Campaign ambassador for "United for Africa"

The well-known TV journalist Anne Will visited DAHW projects in August 2005. The ARD-Tagesthemen (German TV news) speaker travelled to regions which are difficult to reach in order to raise awareness amongst Germans regarding the situation of people in Sudan of whom several also suffer from debilitating diseases such as Leprosy, Tuberculosis and AIDS.

She reported live daily in the Tagesthemen [German TV news] about DAHW achievement with donations from Germany. This relief is particularly necessary in Sudan which has been destroyed during their decade-long civil war.

Anne Will was in Southern Sudan as ambassador for “United for Africa” - a collection of 33 relief organisations, including DAHW, which voice the needs of people in Africa. Anne Will was especially impressed by the fight against Leprosy. „Just like many other people, I had always assumed that this disease no longer exists. But the fact of the matter is that there are half a million new infections each year“, says Anne Will after visiting a health centre where people suffering from leprosy are treated.

„I support ´United for Africa´ as their ambassador because Africa is not a lost continent, because I meet people here who are full of optimism and ideas“, explains the journalist about her commitment to the campaign.
