Mobile Diagnosis in Paraguay The National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Programme The national programme, the NTLP, includes training and further qualifications for medical staff, the supply of medicine and laboratory materials, health education and logistics for people and materials. Nine medical doctors, twelve district agents, three laboratory assistants and ten other staff members are working in the programme. The mobile teams detected 404 new leprosy cases and 410 new TB cases in 2007. Another 1.937 patients were detected, who were suffering from dermatological diseases, and 32 people were found to be in need of socio-economic rehabilitation. The support of DAHW in 2007 amounted to 79.082 Euros; 87.522 Euros are foreseen for the year 2008. Since 1958 DAHW has put a total of 6.568.177 Euros towards the fight against leprosy and TB in Paraguay .
